Announcing a New Product Line and Fundraiser

Posted December 4th, 2011 by admin

We are proud to announce “The Russell Means Line – Angelia ”. Longtime friend, Elder, Lakota leader, founder of A.I.M., actor and activist Mr. Russell Means has approved the new product line that reminds us we are all related in this circle of life.

Mr. Means was diagnosed with throat cancer this past summer, but current reports he “is more than 80 percent recovered and he is 95 percent healthy.” He declined conventional treatments such as chemotherapy, going with alternative medicine and American Indian traditional medicines. Mr. Means is living proof that alternative/traditional medicines work and that “the war on cancer” is nothing but propaganda aimed at lining the pockets of the medical and pharmaceutical companies.

Medicare or other insurances do not cover the cost of any alternative treatments, placing the burden solely on the patient’s shoulders. Currently the cost of Mr. Means’ treatment is $1,000 a day, plus $1,000 a month in living expenses. In an effort to help raise funds for continued treatments, Little Spirit Products will donate 25% of all sales proceeds to the “The Russell Means Healing Fund”.

Please join us in celebrating the gift of life each and every day with products that are not harmful to our Mother Earth or ourselves. Migwetch

As a science graduate, I am always looking for answers that others seem to either dismiss or accept “there is no other alternative”. Naturally, when my dear friend came to me and said “I have cancer, but I don’t want to do chemotherapy or radiation,” I had to search for other methods of treatment to help him. I have always believed that the world we currently live in is designed to make us sick and make the drug companies rich, I am not alone in this belief. Yet, thousands of people when they hear that six letter word “cancer” they trust the western medicine doctors and pharmaceutical companies are going to cure them, only to discover it is one of the great American hoaxes with only 10 to 15% survival rate, but 100% guaranteed to suck your bank account and your family dry.
I am here to tell you there are other ways of treating this deadly disease but the FDA or the healthcare industry does not want you using these methods even though they might save your life, because cancer is big business for them. For example one of the leading alternative cancer treatments centers is Sunridge Medical Wellness Center in Scottsdale AZ . The problem is because they are not recognized by the healthcare or insurance industries paying for these treatments become a huge financial burden on the patient and their families. Let’s face it, most of us would do anything to save our life, or the lives of our loved ones even if it means spending our last dime. We have an obligation to help our fellow man in times like these, even if it a small amount, it shows that you took the time to care for another human being. Please watch this message from my dear friend, mentor and Elder Russell Means. He has done so much to help his fellow man let us all help him in his time of need.
Thank you,

Ask Angelia – Hair Loss Problems

Posted January 16th, 2011 by admin

Dear Little Spirit;

I am a middle aged women who has been experiencing hair loss, which I know is common, but now I have notice that I am developing a bald spot. I have tried everything including Rogaine, but after only three uses had to discontinue it. My scalp burned, itched all day long and the smell made me nauseated and caused vomiting. I was so discussed because of what I paid for this product that I am returning it to the manufacture. My hair has been the one thing that I have been most proud of all my life and the thought of it all falling out one day is devastating.I desperately need your help, I don’t want to go bald.

Signed
Love My Hair

Dear Love My Hair,

Hair loss is part of the aging process, but is also accelerated by the products we use, our environment and lack of vitamins and minerals. This is not a question that has a short answer, but I will try and give you the most information I can on this topic in effort to educate all of our readers. Let’s review some little known facts about the commercial products that are on the market starting with shampoos. Most shampoos contain Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a common ingredient in cosmetics, shower gels, bubble baths, shampoos, etc. It is also found in garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car-wash soaps and the like. Manufactures love this chemical because it’s cheap and it strips away dirt, grease and grime so they can boast about the effectiveness of their products, however, it is also very corrosive and sticks to greasy surfaces including scalp and skin.
Here are some facts revealed in a study from the University of Georgia Medical College on the dangers of SLS. One of the most common side effects of SLS is hair loss due to the damage caused to the hair follicles. The study also indicated that long-term use of products containing SLS have shown retention in the tissues, eyes, brain, heart, liver and so forth. The study also indicated that SLS penetrates young children’s eyes, preventing them from developing properly and causing cataracts in adults. Strangely enough it is classified as a drug in some bubble baths targeted for children’s use. Due to its corrosiveness, it is potentially harmful to skin and hair by stripping the protective lipids from the surface causing ineffective regulation of moisture.
Another extremely serious problem is the connection of SLS with nitrate contamination. SLS reacts with many types of ingredients used in skin products and forms nitrosamines (nitrates). Nitrates are potential cancer-causing carcinogenic, which are absorbed through the skin. A variation of SLS is SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE (Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate- SLES). It exhibits many of the same characteristics and is a higher-foaming variation of SLS.
It is important to read your labels and choose a shampoo that doesn’t contain SLS or SLES like Bart’s Bee shampoo or our shampoos, which do not contain SLS or SLES. If you must use a cream rinse for your hair, make a simple natural cream rinse, which I have listed below along with some common dietary changes that help reduce hair loss. Limit the amount of hair gels, hair sprays, dyes and other products on your hair, because they also contain harmful ingredients that cause drying and damage to the hair follicles.
Last but certainly not least, let’s examine your vitamin and mineral intake. Our modern diet lacks the proper amount of vitamins and minerals because our food is loaded with preservatives and additives that diminish the nutritional value of these foods. Our vegetables and fruits are not what they were fifty years ago due to the chemicals used for crop production, which has stripped the vital minerals from the soil. Making sure you have the proper balance of these vitamins and mineral can actually stimulate hair growth.
Common sense must be applied when using any product, therefore educate yourself, don’t fall for the snake oil salesman/saleswoman and take control of your own health and happiness. There is no quick fix or magic pill that is going to fix things overnight, a lot of this is going to take discipline and willpower.

Cream Rinse for shiny healthy hair
Makes 4 cups. Store in the refrigerator if you do not wash your hair everyday shelf life for room temperature is only about 4 to 5 days.

    4 cups of water

2 bags or 2 heaping teaspoons of organic green tea

    1 table raw natural honey

2 heaping tabls of dried rosemary or 1 heaping table of fresh rosemary

2 heaping tabls of dried lavender or 1 heaping table of fresh lavender

2 bags of organic chamomile tea or 2 heaping teaspoons of organic chamomile

Gather a large saucepan, small wire strainer, non-bleached coffee filter, a 2 quart pitcher, teaspoon, tablespoon, a quart jar with lid and a large spoon for stirring. Add all ingredients into the saucepan except the honey, put on medium heat and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in honey, let steep for 2 hours. Take your strainer and put over your pitcher and put your coffee filter into the strainer, then begin pouring your mixture into the strainer to filter out the green tea, rosemary, lavender and chamomile. After you have strained your mixture gently carefully squeeze the remaining fluid from your filter, do not to break or tear it, cover you mixture with a lid and store at room temp if you plan on using it daily or otherwise store it in the refrigerator. Pour this solution over just shampooed hair saturating your entire head, squeeze out the excess but do not rinse and towel dry. You will notice that your comb doesn’t just glide through your hair like with commercial cream rinses because it doesn’t have the waxy chemical build-up that is left on your hair after using these rinses. You will however, notice how naturally shiny and soft your hair is after using this rinse. If your hair has a lot of left over build-up residue from commercial products used you can add a ¼ cup of lemon juice to this mixture but I do advise leaving this mixture on your hair for approximately 2 minutes then rinsing toughly with plain water. If you leave the lemon juice mixture in your hair and you are exposed to intense indoor lighting or sunlight, this can cause lighting of your hair color.

Ask Angelia – Itchy Scalp

Posted September 16th, 2009 by admin

Dear Angelia – Little Spirit,

I wash my hair regularly but my scalp itches enough to drive me crazy. What do you suggest I do to alleviate this incessant itch

Itchy Scalp

Dear Itchy,

Most companies would see such a question as an invitation to sell you their much hyped product, but here is a simple home remedy you might try.

Dry Scalp Treatment

  • 4 bags of green tea
  • 4 bags of Chamomile tea
  • 3 sprigs of lavender
  • 2 Tablespoons of fresh rosemary

Take 3 cups of water and boil it, remove from stove add all the ingredients and steep for ½ hour. Let cool down and squeeze tea bags to remove all the remaining tea, then strain out the rosemary and lavender, store in a container until you are ready to use it. Shampoo your hair with a gentle shampoo containing aloe, rinse well and then apply the tea mixture to your hair massage in well and do not rinse out. This will not only treat dry scalp but it will treat dry hair as well.

Dear Angelia – Little Spirit

Thank you ever so much for your suggestion, it worked wonders! My hair has never felt so soft and the itching is gone

Not So Itchy
